In April, 2017, the original Tacos Punta Cabras closed its doors and Santa Monica lost one of the best real hole-in-the-wall taco spots on the west side. Now, Punta Cabras is back with a vengeance, and Chef Daniel brings with him a much bigger menu. Still sporting an all-day Taqueria with fresh, gleaming cocteles and ceviches, and the most amazing tacos on freshly hand made tortillas, they have added a much bigger menu and a sit-down area that features things like the incredible costras, a Mexico City-style dish that melts chihuahua and gouda cheeses with things like ribeye, squash, or shrimp and places it into a tortilla or lettuce cup. There’s a huge focus on fresh seafood, but there are great vegetarian options, and carnivores can grab a tender steak or a juicy burger.
