In 1902, Laring’s Lunch Room was seated at the base of what is now the Santa Monica pier.  In the 1970’s, Big Dean’s took over the popular cafe, and soon developed a strong reputation for its outstanding food and great drinks in a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere. Celebrities, such as Cary Grant, Robert Wagner, Natalie Wood, George C. Scott, Wilt Chamberlain, Evel Knievel, and Arnold Schwarzenegger were known to have hung out at Big Deans over the years. Today, Big Dean’s is known as one of those rare finds; a great, neighborly place, with excellent food at reasonable prices, right in the middle of one of the world’s most popular destinations.  They are Zagat-rated and have been voted one of LA’s 101 Best Bars.  If you’re in Santa Monica, stop in and grab some food and a beer and soak up the sun.
