If not for its prime real estate right on Rose Avenue in Venice, Flake could just as easily be in a small beach town away from all the fanfare of LA. Only a few blocks from the beach, it is a great place to grab a bite and a coffee for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
Absolutely everything is good at Flake, so you can't go wrong. The bacon breakfast burrito is sublime, the acai bowls are amazing, and the homemade banana bread and fresh pressed O.J. are also stellar. The food is classic breakfast and lunch fare, but with a southern California twist. Flake has as many healthy twists on the menu as they do decadent meaty delicacies. Their coffee is good, but not pretentious (they don’t ask you which Latin American or African nation you want your coffee to originate from) and the ambiance makes you want to stay, and come back.
Consistently rated as one of Venice’s top 10 restaurants, Flake is ranked by Tripadvisor as #86 out of all 8,325 Restaurants in Los Angeles.
