Chez Jay (Established 1959) has been serving locals, celebrities and visitors in Santa Monica since 1959. Steps from the beach and the Santa Monica Pier, they are known as a celebrity hang out, a “dive bar” and a “classy joint”, offering a unique and friendly atmosphere to locals and newcomers alike, including those famous faces that still call Chez Jay their favorite place. Chez Jay was declared a Santa Monica Historic Landmark in 2012, and they celebrated their 60th anniversary with an updated back patio, The Backyard at Chez Jay, that comes complete with more seating and ocean breezes. Stop in and have a cocktail or a steak dinner, just refrain from taking pictures - a house rule since the days of Marilyn and JFK’s secret rendezvous in the 60’s!
